Original Lowell School, before I-5 went through and removed it

What Lowell Is

Lowell is a neighborhood located on the eastern side of Everett, WA, between Interstate 5 & the Snohomish River. Offering breathtaking views and easy access to many main roadways, it’s a pretty wonderful place to live.

Our History

Lowell was founded in 1863 by E.D. Smith. Lowell predated the city of Everett by 30 years, and was annexed by the city in the early 1960’s.

Smith’s family is still represented today in the neighborhood of Lowell by Alex Alexander’s farm, which is right across the river at the Getchell Farm. Alex passed away, but his farm is still being cared for by his daughter. Many of the buildings can be seen from the Lowell Riverfront Trail.
