RED BARN COMMUNITY GARDEN
- AN LCA NEIGHBORHOOD PROJECT

The Red Barn Community Garden is a publicly-maintained sustainable garden located on Larimer Rd in the Lowell neighborhood of Everett. The Lowell Civic Association has received mini grant funding that will be used to pay rental fees for garden plots for Lowell residents, buy tools and equipment for the gardening activities, and provide fertilizer and tractor support. The Lowell Civic Association will also be working with the Red Barn and the City of Everett to enhance road access to the garden plots.

THE REASON

We need to get more community involvement in activities in our community that have a long term benefit to all of us. Growing our own food, and food for others, returns us to our roots, and encourages a sustainable, all-organic diet.

THE PROCESS

Donate time to help prepare gardening plots and assist those plot owners who may need assistance, contribute gardening tools, or have your own plot in the Red Barn Garden!

THE RESULT

During the time in which the Red Barn Community Garden has been in operation, thousands of pounds of vegetables have been raised for individual families and groups, with thousands more being donated to local food banks. Join us to continue this tremendous project that benefits many!
